Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 16, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Dvorce.ca. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Service Description & Scope

Dvorce.ca is a legal technology platform that provides automated calculation services for child and spousal support based on the Federal Child Support Guidelines (FCSG) and Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines (SSAG).

Our services include:

  • Calculation engine for support amounts across all Canadian provinces and territories
  • PDF report generation with detailed audit trails
  • Case and scenario management tools
  • Historical data access (2010-2026 tax years)

WE ARE NOT A LAW FIRM. DVORCE.CA DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE.

The calculations, reports, and information provided are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice, legal opinions, or a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified lawyer. Use of this service does not create a lawyer-client relationship. All results must be reviewed and verified by a qualified legal professional before being used in court proceedings, legal agreements, or financial decisions.

2. User Responsibilities & Input Data Accuracy

You are solely responsible for:

  • The accuracy, completeness, and legality of all information you enter into the platform
  • Verifying income amounts, dates of birth, separation dates, and all family information
  • Updating calculations if your circumstances change
  • Consulting with a qualified lawyer before relying on any calculation results
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable court orders and legal obligations

IMPORTANT: Garbage In, Garbage Out

Our calculations are only as accurate as the data you provide. Incorrect, incomplete, or outdated inputs will produce incorrect results. We do not verify, audit, or validate your input data. You bear full responsibility for the accuracy of all information entered into the platform.

3. Calculation Accuracy & Limitations

While we strive to maintain our algorithms in accordance with current Canadian federal and provincial regulations, we make no warranties or representations that:

  • The results are error-free or complete
  • The results will be accepted by any court or government agency
  • The calculations account for every possible circumstance or exception
  • Historical data is complete or without errors

Court Discretion:

Canadian courts have discretion to deviate from guideline amounts based on individual circumstances, special expenses, hardship, or other factors. Our calculations show guideline ranges, not guaranteed outcomes. Only a judge can determine the final support amounts in your case.

4. Subscription & Payment Terms

Free Tier: Limited access to calculation tools with basic features.

Paid Plans: Full access to all features, including unlimited calculations, case management, historical data, and PDF exports.

Billing: All fees are in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual basis and will automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

Price Changes: We reserve the right to modify subscription prices with 30 days' advance notice to existing subscribers. New prices apply to renewals after the notice period.

5. Refund Policy

Free Tier: No refunds applicable (no charges).

Paid Plans:

  • 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee: Full refund if requested within 30 days of initial purchase or renewal.
  • Pro-Rated Refunds: After 30 days, annual plan refunds are pro-rated based on unused months remaining in your subscription: Refund = (Amount Paid ÷ 12) × Months Remaining.
